Wonder in Action

Ever wonder why trials are so important to God? Ever wonder what the will of God is for you? Why do I have to listen to the song "consider is Joy, when you face many trials..." or the song, His hands are sovereign.
I thought this blog would need some more thinking time, but I'm ready to tell all that has happened in the last month.

The last weeks have been a very trying time in my life, wondering the will of God for me. I've had my ups and downs emotionally in the very midst of an extreme hard ache.
I can't do it all on my own, but I can do it under the hands of God. His sovereign hands are right there beside me. I'm holding tight to God's hands right now. I don't know where the future is leading me. I may be in jeopardy of my job now or in the future.
God does his work in sovereign ways. Isaiah 40 is powerful!!!!
Why do we give God advice? He doesn't need my approval. I need to surrender it all to him. Be humble and know that God is sovereign. God does his work in sudden ways. I'm beginning to see this happening in my life. When God shakes your life, he does it pretty sudden and shakes everything in your life, so that you will take everything that doesn't look like Jesus and be moved to His will.
A very important thought is, take everything that I have learned while in the light, and now apply in the dark. The dark is appearing; I need to take all the truths, and scripture and apply it. Learn to trust the Lord of God even when you can't see the hand of God. Embrace the will of God because you know the heart of God. Moses led a very difficult life, but knew the heart of God. We know that God is sovereign and will give us all our needs- so follow the heart of God.
I don't have answers of what God is calling me in life right now, but I am learning this through the process. "Die to what I want". Be willing to fall to the ground and die. When we die, the life of Christ can be brought by us.
I'm totally surrendering to him. I haven't been willing to surrender. Life has been an emotional roller coaster. But He is my Rock. I am standing solid on God. My prayer today, is that I will surrender my job, future, my everything to Him.

4 Months!!!!

(5th post, we'll see if it works this time).
On July 24th-August 6th, I will be in the Holy Land again. I'm thrilled to be a part of this ministry and all that God has in store in 2009. In the year 2007, we were blessed with over 70 kids and 20 adults receiving Christ. God has been so faithful in the ministry that we are forming relationships with those in the holy land. Please continue to pray for our team. Below is a highlight video of the trip taken in 2007. What a Blessing God has allowed me to partake in, and praying for his ultimate blessing in 2009.

St. Pat's Day or Early Celebration!

So the Birthday club at work celebrated for us on St. Pats day. It was really nice to receive such beautiful flowers. But the harassment of wearing green was not so great! I was in the office making copies every hour since grades were due, and I didn't have my crown on. Everyone in the school wanted me to wear that crown. I wore it for my 2nd graders and to prove to the staff that I wore it.

PI Day

So are you wondering what the meaning of pi day really is. And no, it does not mean that today we get to eat Pie! Although some may only wish to do so. If you look, today's date is 3-14. In mathematician terms, it is 3.14 "Pi is the Limit" is the theme for this year. This number is infinite. It goes on and on forever. So no finite sequence of algebraic operations on integers (powers, roots, sums, etc.) can be equal to its value. Every year at school our students have a 'pi day'. On Monday every 2nd-8th grader will participate in a workshop where they will get hands on experiments and learn about how pi is used in math. The high school math class will be instructing our kids on the value of pi. Quite interesting, but it's always a fun learning time, and maybe a piece of pie might be given that day as well.

2 months Vacation

2 months in the Caribbean, and all I can say is, how relaxing. My Parents have been on retirement vacation since Dec. 31. They have enjoyed the warmth of the sun, beaches, pools, reading, sunsets, dinners with friends, family visiting. Now they will return back to the reality that spring has yet to come here. I'm feeling anxious today, that I will see my parents after 2 months. The house has been taken care of, but now I'm ready for a break. Though I am really blessed to have such wonderful parents in my life. I thank them for thier loving care and support throughout my life.

Jealous, Arent You?

I bet everyone would like to be a P.E. teacher, when I say how nice and warm the weather was today. Our Kindergartners and 1st Grade jump roped and played outside. And we took our Jr. High kids outside to walk and play catch with footballs. It was a great day. One group played a game where they ran around in a circle throwing the football to each other. The person who didn't catch the ball was out. They were actually enjoying themselves.
Last year at this temperature, our kids were whining because it was cold. It's all in perspective.
Spring is here, I can feel it. I had a very productive day! I took my dog to be groomed, and she looks so beautiful with short hair. Oh and then I had a frappucino to celebrate spring. I cleaned out my car, swept the garage, tried to change light bulbs(too short), laundry, groceries, cooked dinner, and relaxed on the couch!

Coming Soon! The long awaited arrival of my parents-
after2 months:Monday :-)

Question of the Day!

The question of the day presented itself with.."Miss Childs, When did you get glasses?
(Answer: In Kindergarten)
Guess what happens when you rarely wear your glasses to work, about 50 students were shocked and amazed and some even thought I had just gone to the eye doctor yesterday to get glasses.
Oh so you want to know the reason you say....Well I had a nice mishap and down the drain my contact went, or so I think. This has happened 2x now in the last 2 years. Maybe I'll think twice before I think it's in my eye and it faintly disappears. Unfortunately, I have gas permeable and it will cost. Seems like things just keep coming my way financially. I'm loving all these monstrous bills. First, the computer cord, then the gas tank cable, now the contacts...what else am I missing?

Scrabble Anyone?
I spent a wonderful evening Monday with Friends, and played the word game"SCRABBLE".
Anyone know what QUAG is, yeah...we looked it up in the official scrabble dictionary back from 1978.How do you ever keep something like that, especially when you pack up for overseas mission work, and come back in 5 yrs. to find it in storage!
Definition=a soft wet area of low-lying land that sinks underfoot

Turn up Mr. Tunebox---
The wonderful perks of my job is music. We have a nice sound system in the gym and have allowed students to bring in appropriate music to play during class. So I've had it up to my ears with Taylor Swift, but enjoyed some Keith Urban today. Though since the morning turned blue early, I started with the Had a Bad Day song...
The girls bring in Girl CD's and the boys, haven't quite figured out any good Cd's yet...
