New york Landing & Hot Air Balloon Chase!!!

The New York team has arrived home and we have had a spetacular week, sharing the gospel in New York city in the parks, subways, soccer field, streets, VBS, hotel, restauraunts....
It was a exhausting week with little sleep and no down time. But we enjoyed being in New York with this team greatly. I will update with more pictures soon. The team had very little sleep which forced us to sleep on the plane. Hmm who is this guy next to Kevin? Could he be the culprit?

An Exciting night as my family and I were driving home, we saw a hot air balloon. My dad is obsessed with them so he decided to drive to see it. More like chase the balloon down. As we drove closer down Allen Rd. we realized it was a friend of ours. I begged my dad to stop so i could take some pictures. But my mom decided she wanted to go say hi. It was an unexpected shock to Kathy that we were there....Awesome night.

Dr. Kathy Arkwell & the Barber Famly who were there to watch!

5 Days ---New York!!!!!!!!!!

July 18th, 2008
Less than 8 hours till New York!
Please check out the following blog for further details.
I am so excited for this trip. We've already had flight changes but hoping for good travel in the morning. I know this trip will be a faith building experience. I've already been challenged through the training and preparation to teach soccer and give devotions. Keep us in your prayers.

AH ! I say. Since I'm pr acting staying up later, i thought I'd blog this post
tonight. Actually I'm not practicing staying up and think it's going to feel like a very exhausting day.
Our team has had 2 great meetings this week, and think we are starting to feel ready for out Big trip to the city. We have been talking and finalizing details and spent a great time in prayer.
God has blessed this team so dearly, and we are ready to serve in different areas in New York.
Several team members will be at a park in Harlem, witnessing to those walking around the park and subway... Others are working with the VBS program for the week, and the rest is coaching a group of soccer kids for the week. It will be an exhausting week, but rewarding as we serve God and reach others for Christ.
Check out our blog for the week! Pictures and Updates will be posted.

Sweeeet Weekend!!!

I had one of the best weekend in months. Friday was spent with great friends mini golf and of course the Spotted Cow.
Saturday-- it was time for Girl Time....
The day started off meeting the group who stayed at Wingate the night before.. Then we headed to the wonderful Luthanical Gardens... It was so beautiful out and a blessing to be with these young ladies. Later in the morning, our group headed to the Tower Park.
Lunch was at Flat Top, and the afternoon was spent bowling.
Thanks to all my friends this weekend. I am praising the Lord for your special impact made in my life.

Nigerian Plays Softball--Not Soccer!

Charly enjoys playing softball with my family on the 4th! It's a great battle between each Childs' family and their friends. I'm afraid the dominant family won 20-9.
It was a great day for softball. The only drama was the guy on the mower yelling at my brother for his stupidity of climbing a fence. I think the guy was more mad he had to work on a holiday. But his anger was out of control.
I enjoyed a great time with family and friends this weekend! How blessed I am to have such wonderful friends to watch a spetacular fireworks show.

How i spend my Thursdays

The joy of Summer, and a day off work! I thoroughly enjoyed the busyness of the day. This kept me from accomplishing anything important. I have enjoyed the time with my family and excited for the 4th of July to spend quality time with my family. Life has had its ups and downs this week, and the joy of spending a weekend with my family is making me smile. I however did not get a picture of our "ticket to ride "game. Which my brother claims he's 4-0 now.

First, I spent my day at the Salon: Now understand that my Mother and Sister-In Law literally begged me to get this style...though i was blinded till the finished product.

Second, I usually play Lifeguard, but due to my family being over, I took some pictures.
