Random Trip to Chicao!

A friend asked me if I was available to take a trip to Chicago. Of course, I said yes.
We visited a friend and then took her son(18mo) to the city...It was cutting it close as we literally ran to the train and hopped on, and it took off. Ah, at least we didn't have to drive downtown now.
We ate at Potbelly and then walked to the Sears Tower...actually as we were using the gps system, we realized the tallest building was right in front of us...Yeah, not exactly a proud moment for us. Waited in line and line and more lines...but it was enjoyable. We had about 2 hours to shop, so we strolled down state street. So as we're walking, we were like...where is the Macy's. Yep....you guessed it right in front of us again!!!!
It was a perfect day for Chicago...not so windy and cold. I enjoyed spending time with a good friend and getting to know another friend. The best time was how well behaved an 18 mo. was that day. Though he slept through the sears tower...but was a joy shopping. On our way home, we were stuck in traffic, basically because we couldn't get through the stoplights with all the traffic. So as were were starving for dinner, my friend suggested we should have eaten at Red Robin. Guessing that her words were a sign of stopping to eat as minutes later we passed a RR. MMM, thanks Natalie!
It was a good trip and a highlight of my winter break. Though I got woken up early the next day by my dad to take my parents to the airport, as they leave for 2 months.
Now I only had to catch up on sleep to prepare for New Years Eve Party...(Which was a blast! Pictures and another blog soon)
