2009 Challenge

This year I have been challenged once again to read through the Bible in a year. Though I seem to never fully finish, I feel that God is calling me to dig deeper in His word. With the accountability of the D2G class, I am excited to begin this journey.
2 snow days in a row has allowed me to catch up after a long, emotional, stressful week. I am thankful for this down time this week, that I have been able to read. I pray that God continues to grow me closer to Him. This is a year to put on the full armor of God and I am ready to take on that challenge. It has not been easy already with all the temptations to not fulfill this challenge. I pray that God is working in your life, and you have begun to open your eyes to what He has planned for you this year. Don't shy away from what God is calling you to do. You might miss something, and not be able to see His blessing down the road. I look back at the last year, and see how God's purpose has been fulfilled in my life, even through all the hurt and pain of going through the trial. I'm thankful for a wonderful church, and friends that I now have through Sunday school and small groups.

God Bless you this year!!!

Erika, the first time I challenged myself to read the Bible through in a year, I knew it would be difficult. I knew I would face the temptation to give up if I got behind. So, this is what I did. I found a plan that was not dated, but that gave 365 boxes to check. I told myself and God that I wanted to read through the Bible, even if it took 2 years. So, I set out just to read through the Bible and not worry about the timeframe. After all that, and I think because I took some of the pressure off, I ended up finishing in a year! : ) God is faithful! Have fun with the journey!

Erika, I just realized that I'm about to finish what turned into a three year plan. Just like my college plan (5 year), it feels great to finish and start the challenge again no matter how long. But, don't be surprised if someone puts up stickers by your name in DTG every once and a while just for a boost. ;-)

Wait, except I technically did start college over again at Bradley for a while, and that did not feel good. Ignore that part.
