The morning started out pretty normal...Football game at 9:30 for those of us who were on time. Which was my dad and sister. We waited 30 min. for the rest of the fam.
It wasn't as fun in the past. I think my finger tipped the ball once in a 2 hour game. It was a lot of just running down the field and waving my arms that I was open. We had too many big guys playing this year. Guess that's what happens when 18 people play.
Now, I'm just paying for it as I sit here resting my knee from injuries in the past yr.
Dinner was served on time, with only 1/3 of the family around. Pretty quiet dinner except for my brother and his son both trying to blow out the candles at their tables. Like Father, like Son.
I washed all the dishes, and everytime I thought I was done, there was more...Then took a 2 hour nap in the chair....ended up missing half the "Loaded Question" game, but not a bad game.
We celebrated birthdays as usual and i think that seemed to take an hour of opening. Hmmm Guess when you have a 7yr. and 87 yr. that is what happens...SLOW!
Now my family is playing Pop 5 Cranium. I absolutely hate that game. I asked to play Apples to Apples, but I always get turned down. My niece said she was tired of playing the same games every yr. I agree. My mother is mad that I won't play...and am in my room. But what else is there to do if you're not joined in a game. Plus my knee really hurts and I don't care anymore about the night. The family is trying to act normal after a family trial the last month...I need more faith. God-- I need more faith, and hope and peace. And a heart of forgiveness.
There are no plans for the next 4 days...Guess I'll be cooped up in my room working on my Christmas gift...That only makes sense when there is nothing else to do. Plus I'm a little worried it won't get done. Christmas Eve is right around the corner. A 20 year tradition we have in our family of making gifts for each other at Christmas. Sorry-- TOP SECRET! I won't tell.
