God's Word

I was finishing up some last minute replies to my discussion questions before bed (11:14 pm). It's an early start to the morning at 5am...and I was just thinking that I need to get myself in a better routine to read God's Word, when I about turned off the lights without reading my devotional for the day. I guess I thought a little procrastination wouldn't hurt. So as I decided I could at least read it and not take notes on it tonight like normal; I found myself being selfish about God's word when reading this devotional tonight.

Time with me cannot be rushed. When you are in a hurry, your mind filters back and forth between Me and the tasks ahead of you. Push back the demands pressing in on you; create a safe space around you, a haven in which you can rest with Me. I also desire this time of focused attention and I use it to bless you, strengthening and equipping you for the day ahead. Thus, spending time with Me is a wise investment.
Bring Me the sacrifice of your precious time. This creates sacred space around you---space permeated with My Presence and My peace.
Heb.13:15
Sarah Young

Wow was I being selfish in my time with God. Yes I am tired, Yes, I have to spend the next day on a bus full of 8th graders, and Yes, my body is weak. But God's word is encouraging to my soul. So thankful God grabbed my heart and taught me the importance of reading His word.

Strong Enough

Am I strong enough? I feel like I am at the bottom climbing up. And the climbing up is 3 weeks! It will make me stronger, I can feel His grace. I know He is Sovereign over all my life. Even in this deepest struggle to finish strong, am I strong enough? I will only be strong in His hands.
Philippians 4:13--This is bigger than I can handle, but I don't have to be strong enough.

Laura Story - Grace

H.G.I.E.
His Grace is Enough!

A phrase, I am constantly reminded of his daily grace in my life. It's not always an easy day, but when I am thinking of God's sufficiency for strength, and courage. So many days I am unfocused on my Father's love for me. When I stop to acknowledge Him in my life, He guides me throughout the day, and picks me up by His grace. Thank you Lord for your grace in my life. The end is around the corner. It's been a tough, long, hard road. I am seeking your face for daily grace in my life. I am seeking your face for strength. Fill me with your courage to continue and take away the discouragement that I daily feel with this trial of schoolwork. Keep my heart centered on you, and keep picking me up when my faith falls short of your glory.

A song of God's grace. My prayer for the next 8 weeks!

ORANGE JULIUS

The weather is getting warmer, and I went for an Orange Julius last week, as I sat writing a paper in the sun...It was the best paper writing, or lesson planning ever. So here I am again, on a Saturday afternoon. Drinking an orange Julius and writing yet another paper.

So the next time, I set time out to write a paper, which will be 32 papers in the next 8 weeks, an Orange Julius will have to be ordered to accomplish a spectacular day of writing.

Another Devotional

Yes another devotional. They are a little convicting: Yet maybe it's just my life that is a mess so I need some fixin. This devotional is taking time to soak in my life. I'm still trusting and learning.

waiting, trusting,hoping are intricately connected, like golden strands interwoven to form a strong chain. Trusting is the central strand, because it is the response from My children that I desire the most. Waiting and hoping embellish the central strand and strengthen the chain that connects you to Me. Waiting for Me to do the work, with your eyes on Me, is evidence that you really do trust Me. If you mouth the words "I trust you" while anxiously trying to make things go your way, your words ring hollow. Hoping is future-directed, connecting you to your inheritance in heaven. However, the benefits of hope fall fully on you in the present.

psalm 27:14
"Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord"

Double or Nothing

So life is becoming hectic, and I will soon begin a 3rd and 4th job....But wanted you to know that if you are visiting my blog, you will begin to see another blog that I am currently working on.

You are free to look at this blog, but it is being used for my Grad course...I was only able to create a new account under this blog. But you will begin to see Literacy Fluency Plans on the new blog. I will take a month off regular blogging, as my life might be that chaotic.

Perfection

Ps. 13:5 But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation. By Sarah Young
Bring me you weakness, and receive my peace. Accept yourself and your circumstances just as you are, remembering that I am sovereign over everything. Do not wear yourself out with analyzing and planning. Instead, let thankfulness and trust be your guide through this day. they will keep you close to Me. ....the best way to get through this day is step by step with Me. Continue this intimate journey, trusting that the path you are following is headed for heaven.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Too often I find myself challenging God's will in my life by my imperfections and weakness. I tend to believe if I wait long enough, it'll go away or I'll eventually be spiritually ready or pure and holy enough to accomplish His will. Lately I've pushed aside all these thoughts and feel like a plow pushing through a ton of weight to accomplish His will. No, not really--a hope that all my worry and fears of "I'm not ready" will work in this situation. I'm pretty sure 2 days of lost sleep isn't going to get any better. Needless to say I'm still working on perfecting my life till the answer arrives. Regretting the talk I had with my friend in August/October and possibly reading the church newsletter that has spurred on more about this topic. I can ignore well, but the spirit will continue to nudge and tug at my heart. I do not have to be perfected-a willing and open heart to do God's work. Will I be flawless enough to obey---Only by His grace will I have the strength and wisdom to follow His leading. I am not strong enough, courageously enough, or disciplined to pay the price to see your kingdom come. Would you remind me that the cause is worth any cost. My life may not be ready to impact one's life; through You, I can do all things. I am following step by step.
